Sightseeing Tours In And Around Sun Valley, Idaho
My guides and I feel that the best part of our job is meeting people and sharing the sights and history of our area with our guests. This is reflected in this small sampling of kind words we’ve received since 1987.
Thank you for being such a great guide. - Dick Ranian, Director, Ellis-Ranian Travel.
I’d highly recommend Mark Cook for a guide. He was highly knowledgeable in every facet of information for this area. I have had many guides and on a scale of one to ten, I would rate him a 10+++. I am confident you will concur with me after you use him.
Francis Sheltone, Escort, Storer Travel & Tours.
I just want to thank you for your contribution to the success of the 1994 SEDA Annual Meeting. ...I think the “Town Tour” that you put together for our spouse/guest program went really well... I also want to extend special thanks for going above and beyond, in taking some of the members on their own special tours and so forth....

This popular half day tour is an extension of the “Galena Summit Tour” that continues north into some of the most scenic and rugged country in America. Elk, deer, eagles and beaver are just some of the wildlife we may encounter. If we’re real lucky, we’ll see one of the moose browsing in the stream. At this point, participants can choose to take to the water for an enchanting motorboat cruise around the lake, sun on the beach, visit the interpretive center or follow a path through the forest. Lunch, which is included in the tour, will also be served during this time of leisure (approx. two hours).
On the route back to Sun Valley, we’ll stop at the Sawtooth Fish Hatchery to view their steelhead, trout and salmon rearing operation. Duration: Six hours.
The Ghost Town
In the 1870’s, gold was discovered about 75 miles north of Sun Valley in one of the most beautiful areas in Idaho. In addition to Galena Summit, the Sawtooth Mountain Range, Redfish Lake (“Top Ten Most Beautiful Lakes” in America according to Outside Magazine.) and the Stanley Basin, this day long excursion takes in the best the SNRA has to offer with a stop at the museum in Stanley, the Sunbeam Dam, a tour of a gold dredge which ate up a valley and a visit to the old mining (now ghost) town of Custer. Excellent photo opportunities abound. About 8 hours. Departs at 8 a.m. Lunch along the way included. Limited to 14. Not available in the winter.
